for providing care, maintenance and education of needy boys and girls of Arab extraction in Arab states in the Middle East toward the end that they affirm faith in God and become believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Lebanon shall receive first consideration.The Layyah A. Barakat Foundation of Philadelphia, PA [ceased to exist in 1984] may, from time to time, make recommendations to the Presbyterian Church (USA) on the Church's use of the income from this fund.In the event that circumstances prevent the use of the annual income within any five year period for the care, maintenance and education of Middle East boys and girls of Arab extraction as described above, then that earned but undistributed income shall be used for purposes as similar as possible to the original intent of the Donor for the care of children of Arab extraction anywhere in the world.

For the support of the work of the Church at the Miraj Medical Center of Miraj, India for use by the same institution as such income is received… The income used for this purpose shall be considered to be outside the budget and shall not be equalized. The Miraj Medical Center of Miraj, India shall use the said income from the fund hereby established as its governing Board shall determine for scholarship support of nursing and medical students. Should the Miraj Medical Center of Miraj, India be merged or consolidated with any other similar institution related to The United Presbyterian Church in the USA, the net income from this gift shall be paid to the said merged related institution which shall be entitled to receive all the benefits of this gift and shall be obligated to administer the same in all respects and in accordance with the terms of this agreement. Further should the Miraj Medical Center of Miraj, India or its successors cease to exist or cease to be a part of or officially connected with The United Presbyterian Church in the USA, then said net income shall be used for the support or medical and nursing education in a manner as similar as possible to the original intent of the Donor.
