Fund for Records Preservation | 203115058178
Normally, annual income from the Fund shall be used by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Department of History, or its successors, for the preservation of archival records of the Presbyterian Church, with particular emphasis upon application of new and emerging technologies. The following understandings shall guide the nature of its use: 1. Income from the Fund shall be applied solely upon authorization of the appropriate elected body of oversight for the Department of History or its functional successors; 2. Income from the Fund shall not be equalized; 3. Income from the Fund shall not be used for general operations. Income from the Fund for Records Preservation may be used for special archival projects when such activity relates directly to the collection, preservation or safeguarding of Presbyterian historical records. Should special projects of this nature be authorized from time to time, income from the Fund may be reinvested and allowed to accumulate for that express purpose. Nevertheless, income accumulation under such circumstance shall never exceed a period of five (5) annual budget cycles.

One: To provide scholarships for worthy students, preferably Thai, in the fields of medicine, nursing and theology at institutions of higher learning in Thailand and at Wattana Wittaya, Thailand. Preference is to be given to students eighteen (18) years of age or over, except in the case of those students nominated for Wattana Wittaya. Nominations of recipients of above scholarships will be made by the acting administrators at Wattana Wittaya, at Bangkok Christian Hospital and the Church of Christ in Thailand, but the final decision as to recipients of scholarships shall be made by officials of the Commission. This geographical limitation may be waived only if political conditions in Thailand make it necessary.Two: To construct or add to a Memorial Chapel at Wattana Wittaya Academy in Bankok Thailand in honor of GEORGE BRADLEY MCFARLAND (donor BERTHA BLOUNT MCFARLAND). This last named capital construction expenditure will not be made until in the carefully considered opinion of the officials of the Commission, political conditions in Thailand and in the Far East are stabilized sufficiently to justify such a capital investment.Three: The Commission, after it receives the corpus hereof, may in its discretion disburse moneys from principal but the principal shall not be reduced below a value of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) unless it be used to construct the Chapel referred to in paragraph Two above.
