Established by Miss Susan Wingfield Neville, Mrs. Virginia Aiken Neville White, Henry Tennent Neville and William Gordon Neville, Jr. in honor of their parents, Dr. William Gordon Neville and Mrs. Mary Lindsay Tennent Neville, missionaries to Brasil, South America, under the Presbyterian Church, U.S., 1925-1962, on the occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary, which was commemorated on September 20, 1973.To provide an endowed scholarship for the Bible Institute of the North now [1974] in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, Brasil. The Corpus of the fund must be maintained intact and restricted. Only the income from the invested principal is to be sent annually to the Division of International Missions of the Presbyterian Church, U. S. to be forwarded to the Bible Institute of the North and there awarded as a scholarship to a worthy student attending the same institution. Selection of the recipient of this scholarship is to be made by the appropriate admissions/scholarship committee of the Bible Institute of the North.In the event the Bible Institute of the North, now in Garanhuns, Pernambuco, Brasil, ceases to exist as an agency of our Presbyterian Church U.S.'s mission in Brasil, the income from the invested fund (that is, interest earned but not the corpus) shall be directed by the staff of the Division of International Missions of the Presbyterian Church U.S., in consultation with a representative of the Neville family, to another worthy Presbyterian mission cause - preferably for a building and loan fund for churches in North Brasil or purely evangelistic work in the same area.
