Sylvia Mikkelson-Vail Scholarship Fund | 102240100898
to be used for scholarships. The Scholarship: 1. Recipient must be entering or pursuing a degree at a Christian College or involved in Christian ministerial studies. The institution or course of study to be approved by the Presbytery. 2. Recipient shall be a member of the community of the Coachella Valley. Selections shall be made without regard to race, creed, age, or sex. Selection of Recipient: 1. Selection shall be made and approved by the Presbytery of Riverside. 2. The selection process shall consider need first, based on the applicants financial aid application to the College of their choice, then records of academic achievement. An Essay on Why I (Want to) attend a Christian College and a personal interview shall be required to provide additional insight for the Presbytery. 3. The recipient may receive the grant for more than one year however an annual review by the Presbytery shall determine that the recipient remains qualified to receive the scholarship. 4. The recipient will be notified of the grant no later than July 1 of each year a grant is given. In the event no suitable recipient is identified in any year that funds are available for the grant, fund shall be given instead, to ministering the elderly.
