Shall use the said income from the fund hereby established to provide scholarships. The Presbytery shall determine the eligibility of applications for scholarships and decide the awarding of scholarship funds. The controlling determinant in the award of these scholarships is less the field of study or specific vocational plans than the personal qualities and Christian commitment of the persons under consideration. However, as a general guideline, all other factors being approximately equal, the donors request that first preference generally be given to seminary students attending seminaries associated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). As a second preference, scholarships may be awarded for study at other seminaries, and, finally, for other fields of study, to applicants qualified by exemplary Christian conduct and faith.
