The Session shall use the income from the Fund to support the education and personal development of young people through any of the following means: 1. financial assistance for post-secondary education (including graduate and theological education) of student(s), members or active attendees of John Knox Presbyterian Church, who demostrate financial need as determinded by the Session or its designated committee; and /or 2. grants to appropriate local or regional non-profit agencies (such as, but not limited to Maryhurst, Inc., Bellewood Homes, or Presbyterian Child Welfare Agency (Buckhorn)) that provide counseling, residential care, and/or educational assistance to troubled boys and girls, such as grants to be presented as Myra Sondergard Memorial Scholarships for academic or career education of one or more of the institution's young clients; or 3. grants to Cedar Ridge, Inc., a Presbyterian-related camp that provides financial assistance to children of low-income families to enable said children to participate in the camping ministry of Cedar Ridge. It is the Session's intent, in stating these particular purposes, that the terms be interpreted broadly to permit flexibility in serving the needs of young people for their intellectual, spiritual, and physical growth and well-being, consistent with the life and work of Myra Sondergard.
