The funds be allowed to accumulate until the market values reaches $200,000.00 [it did 5/2008]. At that time, the interest shall be used for: 1) Staff salaries and benefits, including clergy housing; 2) Maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds. The interest may be used for both budgeted and non-budgeted items, at the discretion of the G.I.P.C. Session. Under no circumstance is the principal to be diminished. It is our wish that the trust be perpetual for a period of 50 years. In the event that an extreme funding emergency arises, the interest may be used to relieve that emergency. These expenditures are to be made on a case-by-case basis, subject to approval of the governing body (e.g. Session) of the G.I.P.C., its successors or assigns. This fund will terminate on April 30, 2048. The remainder of principal and income will be distributed to Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church or its successor.
