The annual scholarship funds are to be used to assist Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center in welcoming campers/guest who are stroke survivors. This assistance may include, but would not be limited to: registration fee subsidies for campers and their caregivers, equipment needed to accommodate the Highlands experience and special camp programs and speakers. The type of assistance provided would be determined annually by Highlands in collaboration with its stroke camp partners/sponsors and focus on adult campers. If, in any given year, no stroke camps are scheduled at Highlands, Highlands may use scholarship funds to equip existing guest rooms with accessibility equipment such as grab bars, raised toilets, shower chairs, etc. If guest rooms have desired accessibility equipment, Highlands may choose to offer assistance to other campers with financial special needs, with a preference for those whose caregivers are in need of respite.
