The purpose of the fund is to provide a source of income to the college which will help meet the most urgent current need. At its inception, this need appears to be student aid. The College - in discussion with David's parents - may shift the purpose from student aid to other needs of importance to the family as well as the college.

Reinvest said income back into the principal of said gift until the total principal reaches Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) or until the year 2040 AD whichever first occurs. At such time, the net income therefrom, as such income is received in quarterly payments. Shall be distributed to Muskingum College, located at New Concord, Ohio 43762. The Muskingum College shall use its proportionate share of the said net income for the enhancement of the general student financial assistance fund for qualified and worthy students. Any income not expended in the year it is earned for the general student financial assistance fund shall be added to the general operating fund.
