In Trust nevertheless to for and upon the special uses and purposes following and for no other, namely that the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America shall faithfully collect and receive the interest and income as they shall fall due from time to time upon said Note and Bonds and of any reinvestments made as hereinafter provided, and after deducting all necessary charges and expenses to use and apply the said net interest and income in such manner as the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America shall from time to time direct, in its strictly Missionary and religious work, and especially in and towards the assistance, maintenance, and support of such Missionaries as shall be from time to time under its charge leaving it to the absolute discretion of the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America to determine in whose favor, to what extent and in what manner, said interest and income shall be so applied. Provided always nevertheless and it is hereby expressly understood that if at any time or times the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America shall find it necessary to borrow money upon temporary loans for periods not exceeding six months at a time and for the purpose of carrying on its regular and strictly missionary and religious work as aforesaid, it may and shall be lawful for the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, by a resolution duly passed, to authorize and direct its Treasurer, or other proper Officer, from time to time, and as often as occasion may require, to hypothecate not exceeding in the aggregate of such hypothecations funding at any one time, one-half in value of the principal of the said fund, taking the securities and investments in which it shall then stand at their fair market value at the time of the hypothecation, and all income accruing, or becoming payable upon the securities or investments so hypothecated, shall during the period of such hypothecation be used and applied in and towards the payment of the interest and principal falling due upon the loans which they have been hypothecated to secure, and for no other purpose whatever, until said loans shall be fully paid Provided further also nevertheless and it is hereby expressly understood that it may and shall be lawful for the said Board of Home Mission of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America at their discretion whenever any of said Note or Bonds shall mature so that the principal thereof shall fall due and become payable to extend the time for payment of the same without lessening the security And Provided further nevertheless and it is hereby expressly understood that it may and shall be lawful for the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America at any time and times in their discretion to sell and dispose of any or all the said Note and Bonds hereinabove set forth and of any or all other securities in which the said fund hereby settled and assured may from time to time be reinvested, either at public or private sale, and for such prices, as the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America shall seem proper Provided further nevertheless and it is hereby expressly understood that it shall be the duty of the said Board of Home Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America immediately to reinvest the proceeds of any and every such sale and rules as well as the principal of any of said Note and Bonds, or of any reinvestments which may be paid off from time to time, either at or after maturity, upon the same trusts of conditions as are herein provided and stipulated for in regard to the said fund And provided further nevertheless and it is hereby expressly understood that all reinvestments of said fund shall be made only in such safe and productive securities as shall from time to time be authorized and permitted under the laws of the State of New York for the investment of trust funds in the hands of trustees Provided further also nevertheless and it is hereby expressly understood that no part of the principal of the said fund hereby settled and assured shall at any time or times be invested in loans to or secured upon any Church property of any description, or any property of or belonging to or held by any religious, benevolent or charitable Board, Corporation or Association whatsoever or of any kind or description.
