In Trust nevertheless to, for and upon the special uses and purposes following, that is to say: In Trust to invest and keep invested the same in safe and productive securities such as are recognized and authorized by the laws of Pennsylvania as proper and legal for the investment of trust funds And the net interest, income and dividends thereof, when and as received to pay over to the Treasurer for the time being of the said Presbyterian Board of Publication to be appropriated and applied under the direction and by the authority of said Board to the distinctively benevolent and missionary work of said Board, that is to say, to the payment of the necessary compensation and expenses of missionaries actually employed by said Board upon the field in the prosecution of its missionary work, and to the gratuitous distribution of the publications of said Board. Provided nevertheless that it shall and may be lawful for said Board to appropriate and apply not exceeding one third of the net income of said Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) in any one year for the purpose of enabling them to publish and issue such works of sound moral and religious character and within the scope of the purposes for which said Board was established or which may hereafter be approved by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America as said Board may determine upon and select at lower prices or in a better and more attractive form, either by providing and procuring stereotype plates for the same, or maps and illustrations therefore: (the cost of such stereotype plates and maps and illustrations so provided to be excluded from the computation of the cost of such works in fixing the prices thereof) or towards publishing or issuing special editions of works of a standard religious character; or in such other manner as said Board may think expedient and determine.
