The Trinity Presbyterian Church of Vandergrift, Pennsylvania shall administer the fund following the guidelines set forth below:It is understood that any eligible recipient from the fund must be a member of an United Presbyterian Church for minimum of four years.It is understood that any eligible recipient from this fund declares an interest in the educational profession, preferably teaching.The session of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Vandergrift, Pennsylvania will choose the recipient(s) and will decide the amount of money to be given to any recipient while preserving principal. At no time shall the principal be used for anything other than generating income for the fund. Should there be no eligible recipient in any year and/or years, the income is to accrue in an interest bearing financial account to be used by the fund in subsequent years. The recipients shall be notified by April 1st of each year and must maintain good academic standing to remain eligible. A given recipient shall not receive more than four academic awards.The Trinity United Presbyterian Church shall promote the Martha Anderson Merrilees Memorial Scholarship Fund to the members of the congregation and by announcing the recipients in the local newspapers, on radio and in other ways they deem desirable.It is understood that the Trinity United Presbyterian Church shall correspond with a member of the Merrilees family at least once a year furnishing them with any and all pertinent facts concerning the fund, including a complete accounting. The name and address of the Merrilees family will be furnished by the family.It is understood that additions can be made to the scholarship fund at any time and in any amount. Such additional gifts would be forwarded to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation to be added to the original gift.
