Designated Use

The First Presbyterian Church of Lockport, NY, shall use said income from the fund hereby established to provide scholarship support for students currently affiliated with said church who are attending colleges related to the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. in the Northeast quadrant of the United States of America, defined in a general guideline as an area within nine hundred (900) miles of Lockport, New York. Although the intention of the donor is to make it possible for a student to enroll in Presbyterian institutions, and preference shall already be given to such applicants, in the event that there are no applicants for Presbyterian colleges in a given year, in cases of unusual financial need, consideration will be given to applicants attending other private or state colleges or universities. Recipients of scholarship support shall be chosen by the Session of said church. The Session shall review the rules and procedures of the fund every ten years and have the power to change the rules in any way that will further the donor's desire to assist students to attend our Presbyterian institutions of higher education. If no recipient is chosen in a given year, the First Presbyterian Church of Lockport, NY, may request that the income from this fund be accrued until such time as a suitable candidate for scholarship support is chosen.
