shall use the said net income from the fund hereby established as its Session shall determine with first preference for engaging a student to serve as an Intern on the said church staff in accordance with the purpose and terms set for in appendix A of this agreement. Appendix A: Purpose of the Fund: 1. To involve as many undergraduate students at the Claremont Colleges year by year in the Christian fellowship and community of the Claremont Presbyterian Church, so that they may share the benefits of Christian worship, study, fellowship and discipleship in the world-wide life of the Christian Church while students in Claremont. 2. To challenge these students to a lifetime of involvement, worship, service and leadership in the Church of Jesus Christ. The Fund will make it possible: 1. For the Claremont Presbyterian Church of Claremont, California to establish a William H. Brownlee College Intern Fund with the said net income received quarterly from the United Presbyterian Foundation's William H. Brownlee College Intern Fund. 2. To identify at least one full-time undergraduate student at the Claremont Colleges who has already made a commitment to Jesus Christ and to leadership and service through the Presbyterian Church before and/or while a student at the Colleges. 3. To identify such a student who is a communicant member of a Presbyterian Church, and who is willing to become associated with Claremont Presbyterian Church for at least one school year, and during that time, to devote a portion of Sunday and such other times as are available, to the Christian Education and Worship programs of the Claremont Presbyterian Church. 4. From time to time, as sufficient funds are available in the Brownlee Fund, to engage this student to serve as an Intern on the Claremont Presbyterian Church staff during the school year, to work especially with the Church's Christian Education program with Junior High, Senior High, and/or College Age Young People. 5. To pay some portion of the Intern's stipend, either through salary, scholarship, award, or other form, to assist the intern with expenses of his or her college education.
