Brian Monroe Fund

Beneficiary location:

Chipley, FL

Account number: 102240101403

Designated Use

The purpose of the Brian Monroe Fund is: The actual cost of a day at Dogwood Acres Camp is the total annual expenditures of Dogwood Acres divided into the number of user days during any given year. Thus, any subsidy is a partial scholarship. It is the intention of the donors that the corpus of the Brian Monroe Scholarship Fund be preserved and invested by the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation and the income from which shall be available to those administering Dogwood Acres Camp as supplementary income. Inasmuch as no user is charged the full cost of a day at camp any supplement from any source is, in effect, a scholarship to those children who use the camp at a cost greatly below the actual cost. It is the donors' wish that the income from this fund become a source of income for the administration of the camp program, not capital improvements. A portion of the income from the fund may be set aside for individual full or partial scholarships, at the discretion of the management, and in accordance with policies approved by the Presbytery of Florida as proposed by the governing body of Dogwood Acres Camp. Should Dogwood Acres Camp ever become self-sustaining, that is, to be able to realize an income from user fees equal to actual cost of administration, then the donors wish the entire income from the Brian Monroe Scholarship Fund to be devoted to granting scholarships to youth and to children deemed unable to pay the full fee, at the discretion of the management, and in accordance with operating procedures properly approved by the governing body.
