....shall be used to provide charity work in some hospital of the Presbyterian Mission in Hopei until such time as the principal shall be great enough to provide a scholarship for study annually for either a nurse or doctor in that same field. At this time the fund shall be change to provide such a scholarship from the income. The use of the funds along these lines is granted to the medical committee of the North China Mission; option to use the funds for medical work elsewhere in China, or, if necessary, in other lands, because of the closing of the Hopei Mission, shall rest with the Board. [Board Action - B.A. 52-124 - The Board VOTED to make available for medical work in Thailand, in addition to the regular field work appropriations, interest on this fund held by the Board. This action is taken in view of the present situation in China and is to begin January 1, 1952, and continue until China is reopened, at which time this action it will be reconsidered. It is felt that Thailand, with its large Chinese population, is most closely related to the China work.]
