Designated Use
First. That, out of the sum of Two thousand two hundred and fifty Dollars ($2,250.) the same being the equivalent of interest on $50,000.00 at the rate of four and one-half per cent (4 1/2%) per annum, The Board [n/k/a Coemar] shall hereafter pay in each year the salary of Dr. Agnes G. Murdock, now in charge of the Women's Hospital and Medical Work for Women at Hwai Yuen Station, Kiang-an Mission, China, and, upon her death or retirement, to the salary of her successor and successors in said office, and set aside annually a sum sufficient in the aggregate to provide, at the expiration of each term of service on the field, for the traveling expenses to and from the United States of Dr. Murdock or her successor. Any balance remaining after the payment of said salary and the setting aside of provision for traveling expenses shall be applied by The Board to the maintenance and support of said hospital and its medical work. Second. The Board shall annually credit on its books said sum of Two thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($2,250.) to the Central Presbyterian Church in the City of New York, now located at the northeasterly corner of Madison Avenue and Fifty-Seventh Street in the City of New York, so long as the Central Presbyterian Church shall continue to maintain and support its present work in the Hwai Yuen Mission Field. If, at any time, the Central Presbyterian Church shall cease to maintain and support its work in the Hwai Yuen Mission Field, then and in that event the object to which said sum of Two thousand two hundred and fifty Dollars ($2,250.) shall be annually, applied by The Board shall be subject to the approval of the Session for the time being of the Central Presbyterian Church.Fourth. If, for any reason, the Session of the Central Presbyterian Church shall decline to act after reasonable notice from The Board, or, if there shall not be in existence a Session of the Central Presbyterian Church, then and in either event, the said principal sum of Fifty thousand Dollars, together with any interest that may have accrued thereon or that may thereafter accrue thereon, shall be applied by The Board according to its judgment and discretion in the prosecution of its work.
