Designated Use

1. The Foundation shall distribute the income from the Fund to A Corp., located at 100 Witherspoon Street, Louisville, Kentucky 40202, to be used, in a manner determined in its sole discretion, for its work with the UPRECO in supporting the development of pastoral leadership in the Presbyterian Community of Congo (CPC) and the Presbyterian Community of Kinshasa (CPK), thus ensuring that the Fund continues to be used for the charitable purposes of the FTRK. 2. The Donors desire that, in expending the income from the Fund, the A Corp. consult with the UPRECO as to its needs for the support of the development of pastoral leadership in the CPC and the CPK and that it be guided by the following preferences in using the income from this Fund for its work with the UPRECO : a. Books for the library b. Faculty development and salary support c. Extension services for pastors and evangelists d. Promotion of the ideals that characterized the life and witness of Ishaku (Jean) wa Shadi, in whose memory the fund is established, namely: - devotion to Christ and the Church - dedication to pastoral ministry - love of the Bible and Christian literature - love of and patience with people - fidelity, honesty, and generosity - unselfish service 3. Should the FTRK be merged or consolidated with any other institution related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the net income from this gift shall be used by A Corp. for its work with the merged institution in the same manner as used for its work with the FTRK the same in all respects and in accordance with the terms of this agreement. 4. Further, should the UPRECO or its successors cease to exist or cease to be a part of or officially connected with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), or if the UPRECO is disaffiliated from the Presbyterian Communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo or there are other major political or ecclesiastical changes which make the use of the income for the A Corp.'s work with the UPRECO unwise for the development of pastoral leadership in the CPC and the CPK, then the said net income shall be used by the A Corp. for theological education in the Democratic Republic of Congo as it deems necessary.
