To the Board of Foreign Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000) dollars, to become a part of its permanent endowment fund on condition that the needs and requirements of the Severance Hospital and Medical College at Seoul, Chosen, as the same may from time to time be determined by said Board, shall have the first call upon the judgment of said sum. Any surplus income which in the judgment of said Board is not necessary in any year for the use, benefit and/or support of said hospital and medical college, and the whole of said income in the event the support of said hospital and medical college is for good cause discontinued, may thereafter be used by said Board for the general purpose of foreign missions of said Presbyterian Church, and I request, although I do not make this a condition of the gift, that so far as possible such income or surplus income shall be devoted to furthering medical and surgical work and for educational purposes.

James T. Sweetman Fund | 203100052526

To be used toward the expenses of sending to the Foreign Mission Field and maintaining thereon, four additional Evangelistic (James T. Sweetman) Missionaries who would not be otherwise commissioned; or in the Board's discretion, toward the support of additional native missionary workers, it being Dr. Sweetman's desire that the Board, after it shall have discharged all its obligations to his wife, shall use the said income in the prosecution of what may be properly designated as advance work. In the case of the death or resignation of any of the said evangelistic missionaries or native missionary workers, successors shall be appointed as soon as practicable, to the end tat there may be at all times upon the foreign field at least four evangelistic missionaries or additional native missionary workers as a result of the bequest. In the event that such evangelistic missionaries or native missionary workers are temporary, unobtainable, and only for such period as they may be unobtainable, the Board may use the said income for other advance evangelistic work.
