Toward the support and maintenance of the manual training work in the Mission Training School for Boys at Sidon, in Syria [n/k/a Lebanon], now known as the Gerard Institute [n/k/a N.E.I.G.B., National Evangelical Institute for Girls and Boys], wholly independent of the annual appropriations to said Mission by The Board of Foreign Mission of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America [n/k/a Coemar]; and that, in case it should ever be deemed the wiser course to discontinue the work in Manual Training in connection with said Gerard Institute, then, during the period of such discontinuance, whether temporary or permanent, the whole of the said net income shall be applied toward the support and maintenance of the Orphan Department of said Gerard Institute by the Syria Mission, subject to the approval of the said Board, and that, in case of the suspension of said Gerard Institute, the said Syria Mission, subject to the approval of the said Board, shall apply the whole of said net income to the support and maintenance of work in behalf of Syrian orphan boys.

To be used solely by the Gerard Institute [now N.E.I.G.B. - National Evangelical Institute for Girls and Boys] for the purpose of providing scholarships for students attending the Institute in accordance with the plan set forth in the brochure prepared by the administration of Gerard Institute and the Eddy family. The brochure contains the following: The William Alfred Eddy Memorial Scholarship is awarded yearly to a student at the Commencement Exercises of Gerard Institute. To be eligible for the Scholarship, the student must be from South Lebanon and in financial need. He must, in the opinion of the faculty be in academic standing and must have demonstrated his worthiness for it by qualities of leadership and service in the school and in the community. Neither the principal nor the interest from these invested funds may be used for any purpose other than that stated above without the mutual consent of the Eddy family and the United Presbyterian Commission on Ecumenical Mission and Relations.
