All income is to be divided equally in two parts: 1. Fifty percent of the net income shall be used to support a special local project or the operating budget of the local church (hereinafter the local funds). 2. Fifty percent of the income shall be used to support the mission of the First Presbyterian Church beyond the bounds of the local church and community. (called the mission funds later in this document. LOCAL FUNDS - The Donors recognize and support the needs of the local church and its programs and projects within the local community through the use of the local funds. The local funds are unrestricted as long as the use of the local funds is approved by vote of the Session .The Session is encouraged to use the local funds to support a special project in the local church or community beyond the budget. However, the local funds may be used for the operating budget, building fund, capital expense fund, or any other use deemed advisable by the Session. MISSION FUNDS - The mission funds are to be used for Presbyterian sponsored or Presbyterian related programs or projects only. They shall not be used for projects that are not validated by either the Presbytery, Synod, or General Assembly. The mission funds may be used in the areas of: global mission, mission awareness, mission personnel support, mission partnerships, disaster assistance through the Presbyterian Church (USA), hunger programs, self-help projects of a non-political nature, people in crisis programs, higher education, and national or international education. The mission funds shall not be used for the following social action purposes: political issues, promotion of alternate life styles, feminist issues, or feminist theology (such as events similar to the Reimagining Conference). They also shall not be used to support the local church, local mission projects, trip expenses for go and serve type missions, or education of or scholarships for local people, as the other 50% of the funds have a local emphasis. In lieu of the foregoing, First Presbyterian Church may donate the mission funds to the General Assembly, to a Synod, or a Presbytery by adding to the unified mission giving of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and therefore are not subject to the preceding restrictions of this paragraph. The committee responsible for the mission of the First Presbyterian Church shall select appropriate mission projects and recommend the project and dollar amounts to the Session. All decisions regarding the distribution of the mission funds shall be approved by vote of the Session.

Knox Presbyterian Church

For the following purposes in the order of priority listed: (i) provide financial aid to African students engaged in the pursuit of an education at Nairobi International School of Theology in Nairobi, Kenya, or, if not feasible, (ii) provide financial aid to African students engaged in the pursuit of an education for Christian ministry within an African culture in which they intend to minister, or if not feasible, (iii) provide financial aid to students engaged in the pursuit of an education for Christian ministry in cultures outside the United States of America. Use of net income shall be determined by (1) a Steering committee to be appointed by the Mission Committee of Knox Presbyterian Church of Naperville, or (2) by such other Presbyterian-related entity as the Session of Knox Presbyterian Church of Naperville may designate from time to time and approved by the Trustee. So long as Scott Moreau, D. Miss., is willing and able to serve, he shall be the designated chairman of the steering committee or other entity to be established to administer and disburse the net income from the principal held under this Agreement. The Treasurer or other general financial officer of Knox Presbyterian Church of Naperville or general financial officer of such other Presbyterian-related entity as the Session of Knox Presbyterian Church of Naperville may designate from time to time and approved by the Trustee, to supervise the disbursement of net income from the principal held under this Agreement, shall as requested as part of the Trustee's normal program audit practices certify to the Trustee that the net income received from the Trustee during the accounting period has been disbursed in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement.
